Siem Reap, Cambodia 2013

This is my long overdue post about Cambodia.

We went to Siem Reap to visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

We also went to see the crocodile farm.

Do take note of the tips I shared :)
Be wary of this man. He is Vinn Tann. Bad and lazy tour guide. And a liar too!

This is Lei. Our tour guide at the Floating Village. He was very expensive too :( Tooooo expensive.

But this is a very nice vendor at the Night Market near Pub Street. She gives awesome deals!
And our favorite Cambodian tuktuk driver!!! The nicest and the only honest person we talked to in Siem Reap. Please find him around Pub Street. And please please please....give him more than what he asks for.  He is such a good person. He deserves more tips :)

Do not forget to hoard coffee, teas and spices!! Yummmmmeh!!

 Enjoy! XOXO

My Bucket List :)

Are you contented with your life? Have you really experienced how to live your life to the fullest? Are there things that you want to do but haven’t done yet? Then I think, you must start on your “bucket list” right now!

What is a “bucket list”? This is a list of things to do before you die. Comes from the term "kicked the bucket".

And this is My Bucket List:

1.       To jump from the Macau Tower.
Macau Tower is regarded as the highest tower in Asia. I have been to Macau twice but it was either raining or nobody to jump with L…I was scared to jump alone!

2.     To go skydiving. I am so happy to know that I can go skydiving in Pampanga for an affordable fee!!! Hope someone out there will be brave enough to go with me!

3.     To go scubadiving. I have been meaning to do it this year but due to unforeseen circumstances, it hasn’t pushed through. Batangas is one of the cheapest place that you can go to do it.

4.    Visit at least one UNESCO World Heritage Site in every country I go to. I have been doing it since I started travelling. And it feels so satisfying to be at the same spot and place where other people in history had been!

5.     To go on a Gondola ride in Venice. I heard that this is one of the most romantic thing you can ever experience with your honey…hmmm….we will see! I have to save up first!

6.    To swim with the Butandings. I am actually contemplating if I will still do this one. As an avid animal rights supporter, I have read about the disadvantages of turning this one into a touristy thing. How it makes the butandings dependent to humans, thus making themselves vulnerable to human threat. #isipisip

7.     To own a home I can truly call my own J

8.     To zipline in Bukidnon. According to their website “Dahilayan Adventure Park boasts of two 840m Ziplines with a drop of 100 meters. Zipriders are transported via 4WD Safari Cruiser to a launch tower at 4500 ASL. Zoom through the rainforest canopy at 60-80kph to land at our Carrier-type flight deck using a special arresting gear system.

9.    To see Macchu Picchu in Peru. It is a 15th-century Inca site located 2,430 metres (7,970 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machupicchu District in Peru. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Sacred Valley which is 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Cusco and through which the Urubamba River flows. (Wikipedia)

10. To be kissed infront of the Eiffel Tower. Well, if you dream…dream big! #nochanceofhappeningfornow

A lot of things in my bucket list are near to impossible, but life is long as well as it is short. Let us just make the most of it!

Let us not feel frustrated when our plans fall into pieces. Always remember that every chance we get, could always turn us “On Vacay Mode”.

Countries Pinoys can visit without a visa

If you are just about to start on your travel adventures, I suggest that you start going to countries without visa  for the Filipinos first. Well, visa is kinda expensive for one. If you are on a really tight budget but would want to explore places other than the Philippines, you might want to visit these places:

1. Macau is Asia's "Las Vegas". Pinoys can stay in this country without a visa for 30 days. You can explore the country's casinos, old towns and their very unique black beach!

2. Brazil is quite far and the air fare is a bit expensive, but Pinoys can stay here for 90 days without a visa. This is the largest country in both South America and Latin America. To maximize your airfare, you can have a sidetrip to Bolivia and Peru where Filipinos can stay without a visa for up to 60 days.

3. Brunei Darussalam allows Filipinos to stay for up to 14 days only. I heard the Golden Mosque here is a must- see sight! Although, not much activity can be found in this moslem country.

4. Cambodia is a history- laden country that can be found in Southeast Asia. Pinoys can stay here for up to 21 days. Watch out for my post about this beautiful country in October.

5. Who can forget Hong Kong? You only need to seat on the plane for 35-45 minutes to reach this energetic and lively country. Travel time is much shorter than going to Tagaytay City! We can stay here visa- free for 14 days. Well, you only need 2 days to enjoy Disneyland! :)

6. Indonesia is much like the Philippines with 17,500 islands. Well, you do not need to explore all the islands of course! Pinoys can stay here visa- free for 30days. Our guest author (naks!) Jonathan Estrada will recount his experience in this country in the coming days. (paging Jojo!)

7. Laos borders Vietnam and can be reached in 3 hours by plane. Filipinos can stay here without visa for 30 days. This country is one of the most favorited backpacking destination in Southeast Asia.

8. Malaysia is quite a large country that borders Singapore. This is the home of Petronas Tower and the most delicious Hainanese chicken and rice I have ever tasted. (I am salivating just thinking about it ...) We can stay here visa- free for up to 30days.

9. Singapore is a highly urbanized but very clean country. It is the world's 4th leading financial center. We, Pinoys can stay here visa- free for up to 30 days. Do not forget to get a close up of the REAL Merlion at Sentosa Island!

10. Thailand is one of the top tourist destination in SE Asia. It is a liberated country but very religious as well. The mango with coconut milk is to die for! Do not forget to try their fried insects that can be found at Khao San road!

11. Vietnam is one of my favorite country. This country is very young and it is still rising from being war stricken but you cannot deny its beauty. Eat their beef pho and street sandwiches. You will never want to come back home :) Do not forget to visit Hue, where you can find the Imperial Tombs!

There are other countries that offer visa- free stays for the Filipinos but they are already quite far from the Philippines, thus very expensive airfare.

I wish all of you to embark on a journey and see the whole world. Widen your experience, taste the difference, enjoy the unusual. Choose to be "On Vacay Mode".

*I encourage you- my reader -to share your experiences here at "On Vacay Mode". It will be greatly appreciated and welcomed!
